WE OFFER MUSIC, DRAMA, ART AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

These services help children and families to address individual physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs. Our therapists work in a safe environment that builds up confidence and abilities, enabling communication, self-expression and interaction – and also allows your child or young people to express themselves though play, music, or art.

We tailor therapy sessions to each child and family’s specific needs. We offer both individual and group sessions, and support both children and their families at any stage of their journey with Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

Therapies may be delivered in The Ark, at home or at school. We also offer therapy groups and some in-reach services, such as Music Therapy at Barnet Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Music

Music Therapy is the communication of feelings and emotions through music. With the support of a professionally registered therapist, everyone has time to be seen, heard and listened to. It can be accessed by any Noah’s Ark child or family member at any stage of their journey with Noah’s Ark.

Art

Art therapy encourages children and young people to better understand thoughts, feelings and behaviours. By creating images and objects, children and young people can begin to express the thoughts and feelings they have inside. The child’s expression of emotions through their interaction with materials is just as important as any marks or images made.

“The sessions with Kirsty help him with his communication and his ability to participate which, because of lockdown, have really suffered. Kirsty has been amazing at going at Magnus’s pace, which is so important. Above all Kirsty is a brilliant, professional therapist who is having a great impact on Magnus.”
