Safeguarding and protecting babies, children and young people from harm is given the highest priority at Noah’s Ark. It is the collective responsibility of the entire hospice team to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our care.

WE ENSURE OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITY BY UNDERTAKING A RANGE OF MEASURES

  • Safeguarding policies and procedures are reviewed and updated on a regular basis
  • Disclosure and Barring Service checks are completed on all staff and volunteers who have direct contact with children and families
  • Staff and volunteers are provided with mandatory safeguarding training at appropriate levels and are fully aware of how to respond to any concerns
  • Safeguarding is discussed at meetings and one-to-ones at every level, from individual supervision, to Senior Management Meetings, to Trustee meetings.
  • Noah’s Ark have Designated Safeguarding Leads who take on the responsibility for promoting good practice, providing guidance for staff and volunteers as well as liaison with external professionals as required regarding any safeguarding issues
  • In line with the Children Act 2004 and Working Together to Safeguarding Children, Noah’s Ark works in partnership with other agencies such as local statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure continuity of care, encourage information sharing, and develop and sustain good working practices
  • Our Safeguarding Team meet monthly, to review all concerns and ensure that policies, procedures, and training are discussed and reviewed
