We are pleased to announce that two new trustees have joined us.

Hailed as one of Marketing Week’s ‘Top 100 most effective Marketers’ and a top investment banker, the appointment of both Simon Beresford and James Liddy this month, will take our Board from ten members to twelve, adding further experience to an already esteemed panel.

Sophie Andrews, CEO at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice said:
“We are delighted to welcome two more revered professionals to our Board. We are already honoured to have a wide range of expertise on hand to actively advise and govern our charity. Simon and James are a welcome addition to the team and we very much look forward to working together for the benefit of the unwell children and families that we support.”

Simon Beresford

Simon Beresford will join the Board to advise on our fundraising strategy; our current income target is to raise £4.7 million in 2023/24. Simon currently leads the Fundraising and Marketing Department at the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), delivering major national appeals for some of the world’s largest humanitarian crises. Simon and his team have raised over £800 million pounds in the last five years, setting a new Guinness World Record and winning numerous awards along the way. In both 2022 and 2023 Simon was named one of Marketing Week’s ‘Top 100 most effective marketers in the UK’. He is also an experienced trustee, having served on several children’s charity boards prior to joining Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

Commenting on his appointment, Simon Beresford said: “I am absolutely delighted to join the Noah’s Ark board – such a vital charity serving children with life-limiting or life threatening conditions, and their families, in my home of North London. I had exposure to children’s hospices earlier in my career and know the absolutely inspirational places they are. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board, and the executive team, to keep Noah’s Ark moving from strength to strength in the years ahead.”

James Liddy

With an extensive and successful career in banking, James Liddy will help to oversee the finances of Noah’s Ark. James is currently a Managing Director and Head of Gaming, Lodging and Leisure Investment Banking EMEA at Jefferies Group, a multinational independent investment bank and financial services company. James is a seasoned investment banker, with significant prior experience also in healthcare and financial services. Previously, he was a Senior Banker and Head of Gaming, Lodging and Leisure at Deutsche Bank and Moelis & Company. He qualified as a chartered accountant at PwC in Australia. James is a father of two, and believes passionately in the work undertaken by Noah’s Ark.

James Liddy added: “I’m delighted and humbled to be appointed as a trustee of Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. As a parent who has lived through the trauma of a seriously ill child, I can think of no greater cause than the support and care provided by this very special charity. I look forward to assisting Sophie and her team, along with my fellow trustees, in bringing Noah’s Ark’s exceptional care and unique support to more children and their families.”
