During the course of National Volunteers Week, we celebrated all of our wonderful volunteers for their dedication to helping babies, children and young people who are seriously unwell and their families. We also paid special thanks and recognition to thirty-five of our long-serving volunteers reaching their 5, 10 and 15-year milestones.
Volunteers have always been at the heart of Noah’s Ark, providing invaluable support since our inception 17 years ago. Whether it’s helping support siblings in their homes, greeting visitors at The Ark or supporting a child who is seriously unwell – it all plays a vital role within the charity. That’s why for this year’s Volunteers Week, which runs from June 1-7, we wanted to host an evening of celebration at The Ark in aid of all our volunteers’ old and new.
Noah’s Ark staff attended to show their appreciation, as volunteers received their long service certificates and pin badges, and were thanked by Noah’s Ark Chief Executive, Sophie Andrews OBE. The evening featured plenty of conversation, sweet treats, and bubbles for all to enjoy. Volunteers even got a surprise as they entered The Ark, where they were warmly welcomed by our ‘appreciation station’, where staff displayed notes of special thanks.
Noah’s Ark Director of People, Clare Gell, praised all of our volunteers for the invaluable support they provide to the charity and said:
“I would like to thank all of our volunteers on behalf of the team at Noah’s Ark. Without their support, we would be unable to provide many of the services that we do to help children and families during such difficult times in their lives. It was lovely seeing so many of our wonderful volunteers attend the event with their families. We hope they enjoyed the celebrations as much as we did!“
