We were delighted to recently welcome Sir Lloyd Dorfman CBE to The Ark. Sir Lloyd was toured around The Ark, including The Dorfman Wing, which was generously sponsored by Sir Lloyd’s charitable foundation.

The Dorfman Wing houses three family studios, as well as a large family kitchen and lounge. The Dorfman Wing was due to open in July 2020 but when the pandemic struck, we opened its doors early. Since then it has provided high-quality accommodation to family members whilst their child stays with us in our children’s bedroom wing.

Karen, who has stayed at The Ark several times with her daughters Nix and Addy said:

“Addy and I could not have felt more supported, more comforted, or more loved during our stays in The Dorfman Wing. It was like our own personal hotel! Having Nix stay just up the corridor, being looked after by wonderful nurses and carers, meant that I didn’t have to worry about her pain level, meds, or need for support with her breathing – I knew the Noah’s Ark staff had that all covered. I could just chill and know Nix was in good hands”.

Speaking about The Dorfman Foundation’s support, Anthony Hayman, Noah’s Ark’s Director of Fundraising & Communications commented:

“All of us at Noah’s Ark are so grateful to Sir Lloyd and his fellow trustees for The Dorfman Foundation’s sponsorship of The Dorfman Wing. We aim to be there every step of the way for those we support – The Dorfman Wing enables us to do that and is already a key part of our offer for families.”

Reflecting on his visit Sir Lloyd added:

“I am delighted that The Dorfman Foundation has helped bring The Ark to fruition and honoured to have this wing named after our family. I am so pleased that The Dorfman Wing is enabling families to be close to their child during their stay at The Ark, whilst being supported by the expert Noah’s Ark team. Noah’s Ark clearly has an exciting trajectory which I look forward to following closely”.
