ABOUT OUR AWARD WINNING SERVICE

The role assigned to a Home Support Volunteer is unique to each family. The Home Support team works with each family to identify what would be of most benefit, or which member of the family may like some extra support. This could involve playing games with children and young people, helping with homework, or carrying out practical tasks such as gardening or ironing. They can also be an extra pair of hands, helping the whole family enjoy a day out together.

OUR PROCESS

  1. A family is referred to our Home Support Volunteer service by the Family Link team or other service at Noah’s Ark.
  2. The Home Support Volunteer Manager meets with the family to assess what support would be of most benefit, best days and time and any special requirements.
  3. The family are added to the waiting list. Time on waiting list depends on requirements of the family and availability of the volunteers.
  4. Family is matched with a Home Support Volunteer. Support is provided for a maximum of 18 months.
