Our Care

Making every precious moment count

We are committed to providing high quality care and are regulated by the Care Quality Commission. You can read about our last inspection in December 2013 here. The Registered Manager is Dr Rachel Jane Black and the Responsible Individual is Mark Watkins.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice provides vital community hospice services to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions under the age of 19 and their families in Central and North London and Hertsmere.

Every parent wants the best for their child. Meeting a child’s needs can be a challenge at the best of times, but for the parents of a seriously ill child, that challenge is even greater. We know that a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition often requires 24/7 care; many are in and out of hospital and, for some families, simply getting out of the house can prove an overwhelming task. You are not alone. Noah’s Ark is here to help families.

Model of Care

Our model of care places the child or young person at the centre of everything we do and our care services support the whole family. We start by talking with children, young people and their families about their needs, taking note of any family outcomes that we may help them to achieve. Then we build a bespoke package of care to address the issues and outcomes that the family have told us are important. We are focused on enabling children, young people and families and promoting their resilience.

We work with families where they are: at home, in the community, in hospital. We provide holistic care for children, their siblings and parents, addressing their emotional, clinical, social and practical needs. We address these needs through our core services: Family Link, Specialist Care, Therapies, Family Activities, Home Support Volunteers and Sibling Support.

We are committed to providing high quality care to the children, young people and families we support. We welcome your feedback as it helps to improve our services. You may wish to tell us why you are happy with your care, share your concerns, or make a suggestion for improving the way we do things. Please download a feedback form here.
