Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive, Sophie Andrews OBE.
Sophie has been Chief Executive of The Silver Line since its inception in 2012, co-founding the national charity with Dame Esther Rantzen. In 2017 she was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours list in recognition of her contribution.
Prior to that she was Deputy Chief Executive of the Wave Trust and before that was Head of Volunteering at the NSPCC. She was previously Chair of Samaritans, where she had been involved for 25 years as a listening volunteer. She talks movingly of her personal experiences in this TED Talk.
She has a commercial background, having been a contact centre manager for Marks & Spencer for seven years, after which she was an Assistant Director at Arena Options (now Your Housing Group).
Sophie said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Noah’s Ark at this stage of the charity’s journey. Having built and opened a state-of-the-art children’s hospice building, I’m totally committed to bringing The Ark to life for the children and their families, so that it’s sustainable for many years to come.”
Sophie will join Noah’s Ark in the New Year and we look forward to welcoming her to Noah’s Ark.
