Community Groups

Noah’s Ark was founded by the community, determined to provide better palliative care and support to children and families. Come and join the action-packed communities who keep us afloat.

At Noah’s Ark we rely on the support of our local community and it’s always wonderful to see youth groups choose to support us as a charity. It’s a great way for children and young people to become involved in their local community and learn about how they can help others.
Youth Groups can help us raise vital funds to continue and expand our care by:
  • Holding a themed evening, e.g. Chinese New Year, fancy dress or fireworks night.
  • Holding a cake or sweet sale.
  • Holding a sponsored event. You can run, skip or walk to raise money or even have a sponsored silence!
  • Taking part in our Community Events. We are always running collections, stalls at fairs and bag packing throughout the year. Let us know if you would like to get your group involved.
  • Taking part in our Noah’s Ark Challenge Badge. There are easy steps and evenings that you can run to make sure that everyone in your unit goes home with a Noah’s Ark Challenge Badge.
Please let us know if you would like someone to come and talk about Noah’s Ark.

The children and families accessing Noah’s Ark services come from a range of cultural and religious backgrounds. From a variety of weekend events; to catering for religious dietary requirements; to providing a quiet room which can be used for prayer or reflection, we ensure all our families feel comfortable and respected whenever they are at one of our events. Here are just some of the ways faith groups can support our vital services:

  • Organise charity collections during festive seasons such as Christmas, Diwali, Eid, or Rosh Hashanah.
  • Support us by volunteering for our range of activities throughout the year! You could either help at our existing fundraising activities or volunteer during special volunteer days such as Mitzvah or Sewa day.

Please let us know if you would like someone to come and talk about Noah’s Ark.

Noah’s Ark would love to hear from local clubs and sports groups. There are many ways in which you can support us:

  • Book a Noah’s Ark representative as the guest speaker at your next meeting.
  • Choose Noah’s Ark as your Charity of the Year; fundraising events could include (but not exclusive to) race nights, quiz nights, golf days, charity matches and tournaments, etc.
  • Fundraising during our national awareness weeks like Children’s Hospice Week in May and Hospice Care Week in October.
  • Come to one of our events!

Please let us know if you would like someone to come and talk about Noah’s Ark.

At Noah’s Ark we recognise the importance of children supporting other children. Schools fundraising is a great way for children to get involved and we are truly grateful to receive such fantastic support from schools.

Schools can help raise funds to help us continue providing vital care by:

  • Holding a non-school uniform day.
  • Holding a cake or sweet sale.
  • Taking part in a sponsored event. Why not hold a sponsored fun run or silence and see who can raise the most money from family and friends?
  • Organising a collectathon day at school and encourage everyone to donate unwanted items to be sold in our three charity shops.

Colleges, Universities and RAG

Getting your college, university or RAG group involved with Noah’s Ark couldn’t be easier.

  • Organise a bucket collection or RAG raid to raise cash and help us support more families.
  • Volunteer with us. We have lots of ongoing opportunities as well as one-off events.
  • Nominate Noah’s Ark for your college or university Charity of the Year. The ongoing support we receive will help us to continue our vital work.
  • Take part in one of our TEAM Noah challenge events. Whether you fancy running a marathon, climbing a mountain or jumping out of a plane – TEAM Noah needs you!

Please let us know if you would like someone to come and talk about Noah’s Ark.

Noah’s Ark would love to hear from any community groups, families or individuals who are organising their own events to support us as a charity. We rely on the support of our local community, and so it’s always wonderful to hear when communities have come together to raise money themselves – although of course we are always willing to help!

We’ve had a huge variety of events in the past to raise money for us, for example:

  • Christmas Panto
  • Stalls at Community fairs
  • Jewellery Sale
  • Street Party
  • Garden Party

Please let us know if you would like some ideas, guidance or literature to support your event.
