In the summer of 2007, Theresa confirmed her desire to formalise her association with Noah’s Ark and become a Patron.
Theresa is a former barrister and lecturer in law. Having been an MEP for the London area, she became the MP for Chipping Barnet in 2005. Within 8 months Theresa joined the Shadow Cabinet and current holds the position of Shadow Secretary of State for Transport.
Having grown up in North London, and now living in Arkley, Theresa has, for many years, campaigned on important local issues for Barnet, including efforts to improve local hospitals and schools. In her role as patron, she will be building on a commitment to improve the lives of a very special group of young people in her constituency – helping us promote the Charity and secure support from individuals and groups within the Borough.
“Over the last few years I have seen Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice strengthen their supportive role to families living within North London who, for 24 hours each day, care for a life-limited child, whilst coping with all the other day-to-day challenges that family life brings.”
“My decision to become Patron was based on the belief that, given support from the local community, they can make a huge difference to these families”
“I am delighted to be involved with such a young yet vibrant organisation.”
